ABOUT WRITER'S TRUE NORTH
Your book deserves experienced hands.
Publishing a book involves far more than finishing the manuscript. Editing, design, formatting, artwork, production decisions, ISBNs, proofs, publishing platforms, and countless small details all have to come together before a book is truly ready for readers.
Â
Writer’s True North helps authors navigate that entire process — with experienced,
hands-on support from manuscript through finished book.
WHO AM I?
A background built for books
I bring together decades of experience in writing, editing, copywriting, graphic design, and publishing,
along with a Bachelor of Journalism from the
University of Missouri-Columbia.

That combination matters because a book is never only words on a page.

The writing has to work. The design has to support it. The interior has to be readable and professional. The cover has to represent the book accurately and attractively. Artwork may need to be coordinated. Technical publishing requirements have to be handled correctly. And throughout the process, the author needs to understand what is happening and why.

I have worked with authors on projects ranging from children’s books and devotional journals to fiction and nonfiction, helping shape manuscripts, coordinate artwork, design interiors and covers, prepare publication files, manage proofs, and guide books through final publication.

The goal is not to take over your book.

It is to help you finish it well.
HOW I WORK
Careful Craft
Hands-On Partnership
Your Book, Your Decisions
Every book is different. Editing, design, and production decisions are made with the individual manuscript, audience, and author in mind — not by forcing every project through the same formula.
You won’t be handed a list of instructions and left to figure everything out yourself. I stay involved throughout the process, helping move the book from one stage to the next and handling the details that can make publishing feel overwhelming.
You remain the author and final decision-maker. I bring experience, recommendations, and practical guidance, but nothing moves forward without your approval.
